Our History

From Aviation to Entertainment

Founded in 1997, Spotlight Capital Holdings, Inc. originally began as AvStar Aviation Group, Inc. Recognizing the opportunities offered by the entertainment industry’s lack of flexibility, the company changed its name, focus, structure, and trading symbol in 2014. Although the company moved away from aviation, it has used its past contracts and the network built over nearly 30 years to facilitate its new business objectives.

Since 2015, Spotlight has diversified its portfolio to include music, entertainment, film, technology, real estate, e-commerce, media, and transportation. With its three primary divisions—Spotlight Films, Spotlight Music, and Spotlight Concerts—the company aims to foster a more flexible and diverse entertainment landscape. Having established beneficial relationships with familiar names attached to successful projects in the industry, Spotlight is poised to usher in a new era of entertainment.

Aaron Johnson

CEO

Aaron Johnson, born September 9, 1958, in Port Arthur, Texas, began his musical journey at age 8, quickly progressing to a professional level by age 10. By 12, he was playing in a jazz fusion band, participating in school music programs, and opening concerts for notable R&B and rock artists in the 1970s. Moving to California in the late ’70s, Aaron became a recording artist, producer, engineer, and promoter, collaborating with major labels like EMI and Universal. He achieved notable success in the ’90s and 2000s, producing soundtracks and albums, founding distribution companies, and promoting national concerts. Currently, Aaron is involved in promoting concerts and advancing his entertainment holding company, Spotlight Capital Holdings, Inc.

Bob Morales

Robert Morales is a seasoned Cyber Security expert with over 20 years of experience and certifications in Risk Mitigation for large data communication, hosting, distribution, and payment system security. With a professional background spanning over 40 years in Education, Finance, and Technology, Morales is known for his innovative and creative approach to business. His leadership in technological advancements has made a significant impact in the FinTech industry. Having worked for several major corporations, Morales developed the SpotNic “Digital Business Platform,” which is a key component of Spotlight Capital Holdings’ “Entertainment Platform.”

He emphasizes that this platform represents decades of hard work and collaboration, aiming to revolutionize the entertainment industry.

Andre Ligon

Mr. Andre Ligon has been practicing law for almost two decades. Beyond the criminal law litigation aspect of law practice, Mr. Ligon has many interests including the endeavors of Spotlight Capital Holdings’, Inc. Together with the CEO Aaron Johnson, Mr. Ligon has been a stalwart member of the management team which has brought Spotlight Capital back to business prominence.

Since the early days of Spotlight Capital, Mr. Ligon has not only assisted with his legal expertise but his opinions and guidance regarding the pathway for Spotlight Capital to emerge from a debt laden, dormant penny stock company languishing in mismanagement in the aviation industry, to a bright and vibrant corporation with no boundaries for success and an upside that will be beyond belief once Spotlight Capital’s “SpotNic” technology is launched and fully operational.
